Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic spoke on Monday on the phone with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and invited him to visit Serbia.

Erdogan accepted the invitation, saying it would be “a great honor to be one of the first guests of the newly elected president of Serbia.”

Erdogan “congratulated Vucic on his victory in the presidential elections, adding that the friendly relations and cooperation between the two key countries in the Balkans have given an important contribution to regional prosperity and peace,” the Serbian government said in a statement.

“As the two leaders, who were elected during their tenure as prime ministers, I fully believe we will work together to further strengthen our current friendly relations and cooperation, especially in economy,” the Turkish president has been quoted as saying.
