Minister without Portfolio for EU integration Jadranka Joksimovic says Serbia could open two more chapters in EU accession negotiations by the end of June.

Joksimovic said this chance exists although there has been no progress in chapter 35, which relates to the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, which will likely resume in the fall due to early elections in Kosovo.

The minister said that she expects chapters 29 (customs union) and 7 (IP rights) to be opened by the end of next month.

“We will also have ready the negotiating position for chapter 30 (foreign economic relations), but due to the procedure in the EC and in member-states around the giving of consent, I’m not sure this chapter will be opened by the end of June,” Joksimovic said.
