A new fountain in Belgrade’s Slavija Square will be fully operational as of Tuesday, city authorities have announced.

City Manager Goran Vesic said this on Monday, announcing the final rehearsal of the “music and light” fountain in Belgrade’s major square for the evening.

Vesic revealed that the fountain has heating built in and will work in the winter as well, even if the temperature drops to minus 20 degrees Celsius – “the only such fountain in this part of Europe.”

The fountain cost EUR 1.8 million and was manufactured in Greece.
