Iran: At least 1 killed, 5 wounded in Tehran Shooting, hostage situation in Parliament

An ongoing shooting by three gunmen inside the Iranian parliament has left two injured, Iran’s media reported Wednesday.

“Three attackers inside #Iran ‘s Parliament; 2 injured so far; fire exchanges continue,” the Tasnim news service said on its Twitter account.

Hostages are held inside the Iranian parliament amid an ongoing shooting.

“Reports said some people held hostage in #Iran ‘s parliament; fire exchanges going on,” the Tasnim news service said on its Twitter account.

FarsNews Agency reported that one of gunmen inside Parliament is a suicide bomber, currently surrounded by security forces.

Conflicting reports suggest Iran parliament’s attacker arrested. However, some reports have not confirmed his arrest yet, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Reports of another shooting at southern Tehran Imam Khomeini Mausoleum.

At least one person has been killed and five wounded in a shooting at a mausoleum in southern Tehran, Iranian media reported Wednesday amid claims of two arrests and a suicide bombing.

“Based on primary reports, 1 killed, 5 injured in shooting spree at Imam Khomeini shrine,” the Mehr news service posted on its Twitter account.

Multiple Iranian outlets including Mehr reported earlier that a third assailant had reportedly detonated his suicide vest. The latter cited reports of two assailants being arrested at the site.

One of attackers arrested at mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, according to the statement of Tasnim News Agency Twitter.
