Kosovo Prosecutor’s Office has raised indictments against nine persons for terrorism and links with Islamic State extremists.
They are suspected of planning attacks on players and fans during a football match between Albania and Israel, played in Elbasan last year.
The prosecutor said that some of the accused have been in contact with Lavdrimom Muhaxheri, an Islamic State extremists and self-proclaimed “commander of Albanians in Syria and Iraq” from whom they received orders to attack, Reuters reported.
Muhaxheri was recently killed in Syria.
The group also had plans to carry out attacks in Kosovo against local and international institutions, and was buying weapons with the money obtained from Muhaxheri, the prosecution said.
