Montenegro: Ukrainian AN-32P joins firefighting efforts

A Ukrainian AN-32P firefighting plane on Wednesday morning joined the effort to extinguish a wildfire above Obosnik, near the coastal town of Tivat.

According to Montenegro’s state broadcaster, the plane has the capacity to carry 8,000 liters of water.

A Super Puma helicopter, with 2,000-liter capacity, is also expected to arrive from Switzerland today.

According to Montenegrin authorities, there were wildfires this morning in Mardari, along the Solila-Toplis belt, along the villages of Djurasevici, Zabrdje, at Plavi Horizont, and Debeli Brijeg toward Prijevor.

None of the fires were endangering households or people, authorities said.
