Things to do in Serbia

Serbia is located in the center of the Balkan Peninsula, in the southeast of Europe, in the north of the country are plains and, in the south, there are hills and mountains. Golubac

You must visit Golubac fortress if you want to find out more about Serbian history on the right bank of the Danube. This is an impressive building, and the Danube is the widest on this spot. The fortress represents the entrance to the Đerdap canyon.

Drvengrad

Drvengrad is the place where every year is held film festival called Kustendorff after famous Serbian, film director, Emir Kusturica. Some of the quests of this festival were Monica Belluci and Johnny Depp.

Exit music festival

Exit is the best music festival in this part of Europe for 15 years. The festival is located at the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad and has many stages with the different music genre. Exit gather the best musician in the world for four days in July, and Serbia becomes home for music stars like Prodigy, David Guetta, Carl Cox, and many others.

Niš and the monument of Constantine the Great

This is a big must for all lovers of ancient history. You should visit a citadel bridge in Niš, which is located on the banks of the river Nišava, and on the left bank, there are two monuments, tetrarchs of the West- Constantine the Great, and tetrarchs of the East Licinius. Both monuments remind of the 1.700 and 1.600 anniversary of the Edict of Milan.

Kopaonik center for skiing

This is one of the most beautiful mountains in Serbia, which is worldwide known, and it is called Sunshine Mountain because it has more than 200 sunny days a year. You can visit this green oasis in the summer and in the winter whenever you like and enjoy in the fields of green, or in the sports on the snow.

The main street in Belgrade

Knez Mihailova street is the main street in Belgrade and the book example from the nineteenth-century architecture. The whole street is a pedestrian zone and shopping area, and you can see Belgrade City Library, Faculty of Philology, and many other interesting institutions.

Viminacijum

In the center of Serbia is located Viminacijum, one of the best preserved and largest cities of the Roman Empire. In Viminacijum you will explore a beautiful archaeological park because 18 Roman emperors were born in Serbia.

Belgrade City Zoo

At the end of the Knez Mihailova street, you will camo close to Kalemegdan and the city zoo. If you are a lover of the animals you should visit this place which was opened in 1936. The zoo has a surface of the 14 hectares and it has all wild animals in there.
