Red Star Belgrade Defends Radivoj Korac Cup

NIS – The basketball club Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) took the Radivoj Korac Cup for the second year straight in Nis on Sunday by defeating Mega Leks 80-74 (16-21 19-21 24-15 21-17).

This is the third time Crvena Zvezda has won this trophy, with the other two finals being played in Belgrade and Kragujevac.

Coach Dejan Radonjic’s team first beat Konstantin from Nis in the quarterfinals 81-65 and then their greatest rivals, Partizan from Belgrade 76-67.

The top scorers for Crvena Zvezda were Mitrovic with 21 points, Kalinic with 17 and Williams with 14, while Miljenovic with 21, Jokic with 18 and Krstic with 14 were the top scoring players for Mega Leks.

The Radivoj Korac Cup is Serbia’s national cup, named after one of the best players in Serbia’s history.
